Dictionaries, Like Bibles, Need Revision: Each word is an idea so I reject alphabetical listings of words in the dictionary which could serve better in the files of the business world. Idea words should be grouped together to help "form" ideas.

Birds of a feather flock together, in union there is strength, a house divided against itself must fall.

I.M. Pei, noted linguist and architect, once stated that the "English language masquerades in sheep's clothing, especially in the USA, in order to manipulate minds and shape opinions."

Salvadore Dali, noted painter, once said he would like to try to write an essay on each word in the English dictionary.

Will Shakespeare's "To be or not to be" omitted the choice words "to become."

The word EDUCATION means to ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE, but not necessarily in "school," a place where spare time is employed, leisure, discussion, philosophy. SCHOOL: to chide, reprimand, admonish. SCHOOL: to swim together in a school, like fish. SCHOOLMARM: a woman schoolteacher, especially one who tends to be old-fashioned, prudish, pedantic. SCHOOLMAN: one of the medieval university teachers of philosophy, logic, and theology (the study of God and relations to the universe; sutdy of religious doctrines and matters of divinity. THEOLOGY comes in different forms: ASCETICAL * BIBLICAL * DOGMATIC * NATURAL * NATURAL * MORAL * NEW ENGLAND CALVINISM * PROTESTANT NEW AGAINST DOGMAS AND CREEDS * POLEMIC * RATIONAL * REVEALED * SPECULATIVE * SYSTEMATIC * the entire sum of theological knowledge.

EDUCTION is a word that comes from another word: to EDUCE meaning to "draw forth the potential within a person lying dormant -- to "lead," to "draw out," "educt." EDUCATION should be changed to EDUCTION so that each individual could "evolve" from nurturing and knowledge that aids its talent, developing its taste and skill... a "revolution" for "evolution" of the individual American person who can form our "one nation under God" but not "indivisible" (unable to be divided into persons) but "very visible" contributing to the power and economics of the USA.

We, the PEOPLE are a DEMOCRACY OF the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE and FOR the PEOPLE. But, tell me, dear dictionary, "WHO are THE PEOPLE?" YOU? OR "ME" OR "THEM" OR "THOSE" PEOPLE IN THE PULPIT, IN WASHINGTON, DC? The people on WALL STREET? In MEDIA? TV?

PEOPLE: the common people; all the persons of a racial, cultural, religious or linguistic group, nation, or race.

Specifically, all the members of a group having in common TRADITIONAL, HISTORICAL, OR CULTURAL TIES, AS DISTINCT FROM RACIAL OR POLITICAL UNITY, AS THE JEWISH PEOPLE!

People: human beings, as distinct from other animals... citizens or electorate of a state.

People: persons without wealth, influence, privilege or distinction

People: persons considered indefinitely; as "I don't care what people say"

As the Judeo half of that oxymoron "Judeo-Christian," I speak:
A mere hyphen should never allow two enemies to connect as a brotherhood representing peoce, justice, human rights, civil rights, etc.

Webster's dictionary defines "brotherhood" as a word meaning: a class of individuals of the same kind, profession or occupation. syn: society, fraternity, association, fellowship, Sodality...

"Sodality": In the Roman Catholic church, a lay association formed to carry on devotional or charitable activity. (Fran wonders if the word comes from "Sodom," the city destroyed by fire together with a neighboring city, Gomorrah, because of the sinfulness of the city's people. [Genesis xviii/xix])
